Busy Bee News

“Buzz”-worthy Moment: I had a meeting on Thursday and when the guest teacher walked in our classroom, some of the kids said, “Welcome to our hive!”

Social-Emotional Learning: iLEAD

Integrity~Love~Empathy~Accountability~Dedication

These are the core values at San Tan. This week, we researched integrity, love, and empathy. Ask your kids about them!

Daily Schedule

This is subject to change, of course!

Homework

So far the only homework I have sent home has been unfinished math packets (Topic1-1, 2, 3, and 4).

My purpose is for the kids to get the practice so they understand the concepts. If the packet is easy for them, there is no need for them to complete it at home, although they probably will have finished at school! THE POINT: I know you are all busy! I am typically flexible with due dates so if you have sports or ??? one night, feel free to wait until the next night to do it.

If you still have questions or concerns, please let me know!

This Week’s Focus

Continuing with Procedures: “Feel free to…as long as it does not cause a problem for anyone in the universe!”  This is the umbrella, so-to-speak, of all our procedures. This week we focused on Walking out of Romm 206, Collaborative Conversations (Turn and Talk), Bathroom and Water (What/When/How/Where/Who), All Together Now (call outs), Classroom Jobs, Lunchtime, Habits of Discussion,…

Ask your 3rd graders about some of these…it may become a fun conversation!

From the Principal (Emailed Tuesday)

Dear San Tan Families,

Happy second week of school!! We are well into the full swing of MAP testing. I am excited to see our student’s data points so we can meet the students where they are at to keep them at their cutting edge!

I am SO excited to tell you and am hoping that you will save the date for an exciting event! The Diamondbacks have invited our students to sing the National Anthem at their game on Monday, September 12th. Please save the date!! This is such a special and exciting event for our community. I will be sending out more information as it comes in so please look for a special email from me regarding ticket information.

If you are NOT receiving my emails, my best recommendation is to add me (slaramie@santancs.com) as a contact. This will ensure that my emails are not identified as “spam” in your inbox.
