Log in to Literacy Pro! Let me know how the kids like it…my own children really enjoy it!

This is our new online reading program that you paid for when you purchased the RASK kit. It is super cool! My own kids just started using it. The first step is to take an assessment and then the program will suggest books for your child. Please take time to login and check it out. I would love to have them reading even more over the break!

At LiteracyPro, kids can “access over 2,500 authentic, high-quality ebooks, some in Spanish, as well as connections to thousands of print books in classroom libraries. Students are given a personalized reading experience with choice, while educators are provided with actionable data about reading levels, activity, comprehension, and progress.”

Instructions: Go to https://digital.scholastic.com/#/signin

Choose “Sign in with Google Classroom”

Choose your child’s account: firstinitiallastname@santancharterschool.com

It will guide you through the rest! Please let me know how it goes! My own kids love it so far!

*To My Parents of Above Grade Level Learners:

These pages may not seem challenging enough for your kids! Rest assured, in class, we do a lot of enrichment activities and extensions! For example, the book at the end of the /i/ packet has very few words for beginning first grade level readers. One extension idea would be to add more detail to the sentences, like descriptive words or an addition at the end of the sentence.

For math, our discussions are deep and the activities and games that we play can be more challenging!

Library on Fridays!

Please send in your child’s library book on Fridays or before. They will be choosing a new book when they return the book from last week.

Parents at School!

This link is through December. We LOVE having parents on campus!!

From the Principal

Letter from the Principal

Dear San Tan Families,

I hope your week is going well. We have lots of exciting things happening on the Recker Campus. First, I am very excited to announce that we will be bringing a new special to our special’s schedule starting January 18th. I am thrilled to tell you that Ms. Kathryn Gribbin will be a very welcomed addition to our staff as our newest Media Specialist. She will be working with every classroom to provide Library and Computer instruction. I am excited to see how the new special will grow the student’s strengths!

Next, as Dr. Sippel emailed out this week, we are excited to announce that starting next school year, in partnership with EF Tours, San Tan Charter will be offering three major experiential learning opportunities for our 6th grade, 8th grade, and Senior Trips to celebrate these education milestones!

Aside from our yearly upgraded trips that we are taking every March, next year we will begin organizing specialized class trips. Next year’s 6th graders will have the opportunity to head to Washington D.C, 8th graders will have the opportunity to head to Belize and 12th grade will have the opportunity to take a 9-day excursion to London, Paris, and Rome. These added experiences will enrich students’ lives and will be exciting opportunities for younger students to look forward to for years to come!

Finally, please look for an additional email from me this week with all the details about our upcoming music concert (next Wednesday, December 15th).

Thank you!

Arizona Tax Credit Program

The program is a win/win for everyone. By redirecting your tax dollars, you will support special programs at San Tan Charter School such as Music Education and Media Sciences, which each student participates in, and Physical Education including Character Education, in which students participate daily. It also helps support our newest addition of Library and computer lab time for our students.

The best part is whatever you contribute, you will receive dollar for dollar back on your state taxes. So, if you give $100, you can deduct that $100 off what you owe in taxes. If you are a married couple, you may only contribute up to $400. If you are single, the total amount that you can contribute is $200. A one-time contribution is also wonderful.

Donate through your Arizona Tax Credit https://yqysjrrxph.formstack.com/forms/?1627645-EuNcDzZTd2
